The Campus
The institute is situated in Nirma University campus about
15 kms from Ahmedabad city on the Sarkhej – Gandhinagar
Highway. A 110-acre sprawling campus in picturesque
surroundings provides a refreshing environment, stimulating
intellectual alertness and creativity. The campus provides
an ambience that motivates students to grow.
Class Rooms
The classrooms are spacious, ventilated and equipped
with audiovisual equipments to facilitate effective
learning. The classrooms are designed to provide maximum
interaction between the faculty and students
Learning Resources Utilization Centre
(Library)
Institute of Science is highly
focused on academic, research and development activities. In
view of the focused objectives, the Library plays a vital
role in the collection development and dissemination of
scientific and technical information to meet the present and
future academic and research needs of varied users.
Presently, Library at Institute of
Science houses more than 1047 volumes of books selectively
chosen for reading and reference, 62 CDs, 162 Bound Volumes,
105 M. Sc. Dissertations, 5 PhD Theses and subscribing 12
national and international periodicals. The Library is
having access to e-resources like Annual Reviews, e-journals
from Portland Press and Nature Multidisciplinary from
INFLIBNET Centre’s UGC INFONET Digital Library Consortium.
The Library and Resource centre is fully automated with
user-friendly library software Alice for Windows (AfW) that
facilitates automated circulation (issue & return) of the
books and location and availability information of the books
stocked in the library. Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC)
is also available on the Internet for inquiring the status
of the resources. Bar-coding system is in use to computerize
the bibliographic details of the resources. The Library

Transport Facility
Transport facility is provided to students from their
residence to the institute and back. For this University has
its own fleet of new buses which ply on pre-decided routes.
Bank
For the
benefit of students and staff members, an extension counter
of Nirma University branch of Kalupur Commercial
Co-operative Bank has been provided on the university
campus.
Hostel
Excellent hostel facility is available to Girls and Boys
students on request. All Full Time Ph. D. students stay in
the Hostels.
Canteen
Several
canteens are located within the university campus and within
close proximity of the Institute, which provides hygienic
and wholesome food, snacks and beverages, etc.
Play Grounds
The University Student’s Welfare Board is the
nodal authority to co-ordinate and maintained various sports
like, for Cricket, Volleyball, Football, and other games are
maintained on the campus. There are other facilities
available for indoor games such as table tennis, chess,
carom etc. The Annual Sports Day is a regular feature.
