On July 27, 2019, a one-day workshop on Science Communication was organised by Directorate of Research and Innovation (DRI), Nirma University in association with Wellcome Trust/DBT India Alliance. This workshop was designed especially for doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers working in the field of Life Sciences and Pharmacy.
The main objective of the workshop was to enhance the science communication and presentation skills during research studies and early career of participants. A total of fifty-five doctoral students participated in the workshop from different universities of Gujarat.
Dr Sarah Iqbal, Dr Shingar Sharma and Dr Divya Tiwari from DBT Alliance conducted this one-day workshop. The experts had sessions on Basic Science Communication, Presentation Skills (PowerPoint, Posters, etc), Manuscript Writing, other writing skills (Grants, CV, Cover Letters and Interview), and Research Ethics. The workshop concluded with a session on the funding opportunities available at India Alliance.
