Accreditations & Rankings


National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC)

Nirma University has been accredited with Grade ‘A’ by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in 2015. NAAC is an autonomous body established by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to assess and accredit higher education institutions in the country.

National Board of Accreditation (NBA)

Four undergraduate programmes of the Institute of Technology, viz., Computer Science & Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Chemical Engineering are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) in Tier-I format.

South Asian Quality System (SAQS)

Institute of Management is accredited through South Asian Quality System (SAQS) by Association of Management Development Institutions in South Asia (AMDISA), an international association, and a SAARC recognised body.

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has consistently ranked Nirma University among the top 100 institutions in the country. The NIRF framework outlines a methodology to rank institutions across the country. The parameters broadly cover “Teaching, Learning and Resources,” “Research and Professional Practices,” “Graduation Outcomes,” “Outreach and Inclusivity,” and “Perception”.

Nirma University is consistently ranked among the top 10 private universities in India. Below are some of the rankings received by the university:

♦  ‘Outlook-ICARE India University Rankings 2019’ ­ranks Nirma University at fourth position among the Top 50 private state universities of India. Nirma University ranks as the best private university at the state level.

♦   India Today ranks Nirma University amongst  the ‘Top 10 private multi-disciplinary universities’ in India in its July 2019 issue.

♦   In the ranking conducted by ‘The Week – Hansa Research Survey 2019’ Nirma University is ranked among the top 15 universities in the non-government (private and deemed) multi-disciplinary universities category. It is heartening to note that the University has jumped 13 places higher as compared to 2018.

♦   The University has been ranked “5 A” in the ‘Private and Deemed-to-be Universities of India 2019 Ranking’ conducted by Digital Learning, Asia’s premier magazine on education. “5 A” is the highest score on a 7 point scale and is categorised as “exceptional”. The ranking parameters, include Faculty, Entrepreneurship, Industry Interface, Global Collaboration, Placements, and Swachh Campus.
