PostdoctoralFellowship

TheuniversityhasaPostdoctoralFellowshipProgrammewithanaimtoidentifyactiveresearchersandprovidethemwithaplatformtocarryoutresearchinfrontierareas.Itisafull-timeprogramme,wheretheselectedfellowsworkunderamentorforaminimumdurationofoneyear.ThetenurecanbeextendedbasedontheprogressofthecandidateandtherecommendationsoftheResearchProgressCommittee.Thefellowsgetmonthlyfellowshipandannualcontingencygrant.

Eligibility

• TheapplicanttothePostdoctoralFellowshipProgrammeshouldpossessaPhDdegreefromarecognisedIndian/ForeignUniversity.
• Theapplicantshouldhavethreepublicationsinhigh-qualityjournals(listedintheWebofScience/SCOPUS/HeinDatabase/IndianCitationIndex/ABDC/EBSCO/CARE/Art&ArchitectureDatabaseorsimilarinternationalagency).
• Theupperagelimitofthecandidateis40years(atthetimeofthesubmissionoftheapplication).Agerelaxationoffiveyearsisgiventothewomencandidates.
• Thecandidates,whohavecompletedtheirearlierpostdoctoralfellowshipassignment,arealsoeligible.
• ThecandidateswhohavecompletedtheirdoctoralprogrammesatNirmaUniversityarenoteligibletoapplyforthePostdoctoralFellowshipProgramme.

ProcedureofAdmission

Foradmissiontothedoctoralandpostdoctoralprogrammes,theuniversityinvitesapplicationsthroughadvertisementsinnewspapers,onsocialmedia,andtheuniversitywebsite.

Thecandidateshavetoapplyinaformatprescribedbytheuniversityandalsohavetosubmitnecessarycopiesofcertificates,biodata,listofpublications,detailedresearchproposal,etc.

Theresearchproposalshouldincludetheresearchprojecttitle,researchobjectives,projectsummary,expectedoutcomesoftheproposedresearch,requirementofinfrastructure/equipment/software,timeline,etc.

ThecandidatewouldmakeapresentationoftheresearchproposalbeforetheSelectionCommittee.Thepresentationisfollowedby apersonalinterviewofthecandidate.

TheSelectionCommitteemakesitsrecommendationsbasedonthebiodata,publicationsofthecandidates,presentationbythecandidate,thenoveltyoftheresearchproposal,andpersonalinterview.

DurationoftheProgramme

Thefellowshipispurelyatemporaryassignment.Inthefirstinstance,itwouldbeforoneyear.

ThetenurecanbeextendedbasedontheprogressofthecandidateandtherecommendationsoftheResearchProgressCommittee.Themaximumprogrammedurationshouldnotexceedthreeyears.

FellowshipandGrants

• ApostdoctoralfellowisentitledtoamonthlyfellowshipatparwiththesalaryofanAssistantProfessorofNirmaUniversityatthetimeofappointment.
• ThefellowwillbeeligibleforanannualcontingencygrantofRs1,00,000/-.
• Thefellowscanusethecontingencygrantforthepurchaseofbooks/journals/stationery/minorequipment/consumables/chemicals,registrationofnationalorinternationalconference,domestictravel,etc.
• Thebooks,journals,andequipmentpurchasedoutofthecontingencygrantwillbecomethepropertyoftheuniversity.
