NationalServiceScheme(NSS)

Aimedatdevelopingstudents’personalitiesthroughcommunityservice,theNationalServiceScheme(NSS)isavoluntaryassociationofstudentsworkingtostrengthenthecampus-communitylinkagethroughsocialservice.NSSisanIndiangovernment-sponsoredpublicserviceprogrammeconductedbytheMinistryofYouthAffairsandSportssince1969.

NirmaUniversityhasavibrantNSSprogrammewhereinthestudentsfromallinstitutesparticipateandcontributetothewell-beingoftheneighbouringcommunities.Theprogrammeaimstoteachsocialwelfaretothestudents,provideservicetosocietyandhelptheneedy.Regularactivitiesareheldfromtimetotime,andannualseven-dayspecialcampsarealsoorganised.

Theannualcamps,alsoknownasthespecialcamps,areheldinaruralvillageoracitysuburb.Someofthevillagesadoptedbytheconstituentinstitutesoftheuniversityare:Motipura,Miroli,Khodiyar,Jaspur,Valad,Vautha,andKavitha.

Thevolunteersactivelyparticipateinactivitieslikecleaning,afforestation,stageshows,awarenessrallies,andhealthandhygienecamps.NSSvolunteersservingatleasttwoyearsandperforming240hoursofsocialworkareawardedacertificate.
