The Directorate of Research and Innovation (DRI), Nirma University, invited Mrs Deepmala Mahapati from National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission (NIPAM) by Govt. of India to deliver a Webinar on ‘‘IPRs, Patent Office Procedure, and Life of an IPR’ on March 5, 2022. Under the umbrella of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav, a National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission is started to conduct a series of awareness sessions on IPRs and their importance. The main focus of the seminar was to increase awareness about the IPRs and their types and the procedure of all the types. All the faculty members of all the constituent institutes as well as PhD students were invited to attend the session.
Mrs Deepmala first explained all types of IPRs, patents, designs, copyright, trademarks, and Geographical Innovations and the difference between all types of intellectual properties prevalent in India. She provided information about the procedure for all types of registrations and their significance. She also shared about the role of NIPAM for all these registrations and how we can contact them for specific registrations. She also solved the queries of all faculty members and doctoral students.
Heads of various Institutions, Heads of the Departments, Deans, and more than 85 faculty members from various constituent Institutes of Nirma University were present in this webinar. The session ended with the vote of thanks delivered by Dr Tejal Mehta, Dy Director- CQAAD. All the faculty members were informed to submit the details of any of their patentable inventions through the proper channels to the office of the DRI for further process.
