Directorate of Research and Innovation (DRI) organised a one-day Poster Presentation event for Doctoral students of Nirma University on February 15, 2020. The PhD scholars registered with Institute of Technology, Institute of Management, Institute of Law, Institute of Pharmacy, Institute of Science and Institute of Architecture & Planning participated in the event. The purpose of this event was to provide an opportunity for students to share their research with other students and faculty members. It also helps students to boost the confidence of the students and to think out-of-the-box to initiate interdisciplinary research.
The students gave an overwhelming response and created impressive illustrative posters of their research work. Novel research contributions and innovations by the students were artistically presented through and captured in posters. A total of fifty students presented their posters during the event.
During the event, Dr Anup Singh, Director General of the University along with Dr PN Tekwani, Director, DRI, interacted with the students and discussed their ongoing work and possible outcome. The Head of the Institutions as well as faculty members also gave their valuable inputs to the students.
Postgraduate students from different departments, other PhD students and research scholars of the Institutes (including SRF/JRF) also visited the event venue and interacted with the poster presenters and gathered information about the ongoing research.
The students shared the feedback that this event allowed them to showcase their research not only to their peers but to also discuss with the faculty members of other disciplines. This event was also helpful for boosting their confidence and defending their research work.
