A two-day Research Workshop for PhD scholars was organised by Nirma University Library in association with Directorate of Research and Innovation (DRI) on August 31, 2019 and September 7, 2019. The purpose of this workshop was to help the research scholars to have a systematic approach in their doctoral work from their primitive years of learning by oneself and hence this was organised specially for 2nd year doctoral students who had completed their coursework. A total of 25 students across Nirma University participated in this workshop. Numerous topics were covered like literature search, referencing methods, citation styles, document formatting styles and academic integrity etc. It included technical topics with theoretical and hands-on experience sharing with the students.
Dr Monita Shastri, Chief Librarian (I/c), Nirma University was the coordinator of this workshop along with the entire library team. Dr Miteshkumar Pandya, Scientist C (LS), from INFLIBNET and Dr Shailesh Yagnik, Library & Information Service Head, MICA-KEIC were the external invited speakers. Dr Vijay Savani, Dr Akash Mecwan, Dr Santosh Vora, Dr Ankit Thakkar were the invited speakers from Institute of Technology. Mr Virendra Goswami, Librarian (I/c), IPNU and Dr Svetal Shukla, Assistant Librarian, ISNU had also delivered their talk during the workshop. During the valedictory session, Prof (Dr) P N Tekwani, Director, Directorate of Research and Innovation interacted with the students. This was followed by the Certificate distribution ceremony. Dr Tekwani also assured the students that these types of workshops will be arranged on the regular basis.
