The Students Welfare Board (SWB) and the Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University are organising a 3-day annual fest, NUZeal from February 14-16, 2023. The university is also celebrating two decades of academic excellence and for this, a cultural walk was organised by all the constituent institutes on February 13, 2023. The Chief Guest was Mr Mayur Vakani, Indian Television Actor and Sculptor, popularly known as Sundarlal from the TV series Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
The 3-day festivities started with theatre events comprising of mime, skit and mono-acting and music events which had classical and non-classical instrumental performances by the participants. The university also had a grand launch of its band NUMAISH where students from across the institutes were selected and had their first performance on the university campus. The day ended with over 500 students performing together at the Drum Circle with Mr Rujal Vora.
The second day had Literary events like Poetry Recitation, Elocution and Debate. The Music events had Solo, Duet and Group singing competitions. There was a Personality Contest where Aaryan Batra of the Institute of Technology and Sonali Maheshwari of the Institute of Pharmacy, were awarded the Mr and Ms Nirma, respectively. Aayush Radadiya and Mayuri Mudaliar both of the Institute of Technology were awarded the Mr and Ms Glow. The judges for the event were Ms Ruju Desai (owner of Ruju fitness) influencer and Sociopreneur and Ms Noopur Dave who is an Influencer and runs an NGO for women’s empowerment.
The event had a special performace by SPIC MACAY, Fine Arts and Dance competitions. The judges for the dance performances were Ms Ambika Vakani, Mr Praful Ravat and Ms Sheetal Makwana.
The event is coordinated by Dr Bhavesh Parekh, Coordinator- SWB and Dr Dipal Gandhi, Assistant Professor at the Institute of Pharmacy, Nirma University.
